Adoption Mystery...from the Adoptee's perspective

Who am I?  No, really, WHO am I?

I can only assume this question has travelled through the minds of just about every adopted child at one point or another during our lives.  For those of us who have been questioning this for years, even decades, those three words can make up one of the greatest individual mysteries we have to contend with as we grow up in a world of bloodlines, legacies, family trees, and medical histories.

While I can't say I dwelled on this every day of every week, I will say that it was always with me.  It helped shape my personality while feeding my insecurities and strengthening my inner-dependence.  There is no right or wrong here.  I was adopted by a loving set of parents who raised me well and provided all the care and nurturing I desired, yet, despite all that support, I felt something was still missing.

I am curious to hear your thoughts.  How has adoption affected you?

This is a new blog site to allow adoptees the opportunity to unlock some of the mysteries we face, while at the same time realizing that we are not alone.  There is strength and comfort in numbers, and while we may not share the same bloodline with each other, we share a common bond that non-adopted children cannot truly understand...perhaps, together we can help each other unlock the Adoption Mystery.
